Marc Chagall art

on May 16, 2013

Marc Chagall was known as the painter of dreams. We viewed several videos that showcased his paintings. I then had the class list the reoccurring images in his artwork: angels, flowers, people floating through air, animal – human hybrids, and the Eiffel Tower.

The criteria for the art project included drawing something you love, something that reminds you of home, something upside down, and play with the size of objects.

Today we started painting our sketches with watercolours. I demonstrated how to pick up pigment from the palette in order to get intense colours Marc Chagall used lots if colour in his paintings and rarely had white space in his work.
