As part of the Ministry of Education’s requirement of 30 minutes of daily physical activity, I incorporate yoga into the day. I do yoga with the class during announcements, transitions between lessons, and when kids become squirrley. Yoga is an effective tool to focus their attention. These are the poses we have done so far: Mountain, Half-moon, Cat, Cow, Butterfly, Tabletop, Slide, and Lion. On Friday I introduced the class to two balancing poses: Tree and Eagle. Balancing poses are tricky and will take time to master.
