Second Day of Kindergarten

on September 6, 2012

Today we had a tour of the school. We visited the library, lunch room, and bathrooms. We practised walking in the hallway with marshmallow toes and mouths. Class rules were discussed. We started learning each other’s names with a fun name song:

Hi there, hello there, join in the game.
Hi there, hello there, tell us your name.

We learned a new math term: perimeter. Students were asked to sit on the perimeter of the carpet for the name song. During the song we practised an AB pattern by clapping our hands then slapping our lap.

Thank you for the update! It was hard to try to get answers to my questions about what Callum did yesterday! I did manage to hear about the tour and he told me about an aquarium being upstairs. He also told me he learned about siblings as I had mentioned at the dinner table that there was a documentary on sibling rivalry being aired last night. I really appreciate this blog. Thanks for this!
